Azusa Pacific Student Chad Richard Receives Fulbright Award

Azusa Pacific University graduate Chad Richard received a Fulbright Scholarship to teach or conduct research abroad for the 2013–14 year.

Richard, a Indio resident, graduated from APU in May 2012 with a B.A. in English Literature. With the Fulbright award, Richard will work with students in Brazil who are earning their masters degrees to teach English as a second language.

The Fulbright Program is an international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and is designed to "increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries." The Fulbright Program has provided more than 318,000 participants-chosen for their academic merit and leadership potential-with the opportunity to study, teach, and conduct research, exchange ideas and contribute to finding solutions to shared international concerns.
