2015 Apr 30

Azusa Pacific University student Tyler Laird, a Arcadia, CA resident, won the Frank G. Brooks Award for his organismal/ecology presentation at the Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) National Biological Honor Society at CSU-Monterey Bay.

Laird's research deals with an entomopathogenic fungus and its ability to kill subterranean termites.

Seven APU students presented their original research, alongside TriBeta chapters from all over California. Each presentation was evaluated based on degree of originality of the project, methodology and scope of the data, evidence of background knowledge of the project, and clarity of the presentation in two categories - Organismal/Ecological, and Cellular/Molecular.
